Student visas and applying
A language programme in the United States generally requires an F-1 student visa. Following school acceptance, the process involves the I-20, SEVIS registration and fee, and the visa application. A visa or admission to the country is not guaranteed.

A short course while visiting?
A short, recreational, non-credit course may be treated differently from travel for study. Weekly hours alone are not enough to decide: ESTA or a visitor visa is not a general authorisation for language-school study.

Travelling with family?
Documents, status and options for a spouse and children need separate consideration. Request individual guidance from the school and the relevant authority.
